The Randolph County YMCA Summer Day Camp program provides children with
summer adventures that promote healthy body, mind, and spirit. Our
mission is to help campers achieve their fullest potential for
spiritual awareness, intellectual development, social growth, and
physical well-being.
We have
seven objectives that characterize our program:
Grow Personally,
Learn Values,
Improve personal and
family relationships,
Appreciate diversity,
Become better
leaders and supporters,
Develop specific skills and
Have fun.
Our staff leads campers in a wide variety of activities including:
arts and crafts, off-site field trips, skits and songs, games and
sports, instructional/recreational swimming, and Camp YALE adventures.
We teach campers cooperation and team building through character
development.
Our Counselors receive intense training in CPR, first aid, safety and
emergency procedures, and camp curriculum. Most of our counselors have
been educated in early childhood education.
Swimming Lessons - The YMCA Summer Day Camp program provides
swimming lessons to all the campers. The lessons are every morning for
8 days in June. If your camper already knows how to swim they will
advance on to other skills.
Field Trips - Tuesday will be our field trip day. We will leave
from Goodrich Park in a school bus. The field trip fees
are included in the camp prices. Your camper will need to bring a
lunch and drink with an icepack. You might want to send an umbrella
or jacket, depending on the forecast. The campers usually enjoy taking
pictures with a disposable camera so you might want to send one. If
your camper wants to buy any souvenirs you will need to send money
($2 - $5 is enough to buy a small item.) in their Y provided container.
(Field trips are subject to change due to weather or other
circumstances.)
